Establish guidelines and information on which the design process can be based. Five Step Process establishes goals, collects facts, uncovers and tests concepts, determines needs and states the problem. Develop conceptual design into colors, styles, finishes and materials. Creating a concept for the client Provide a space plan that satisfies the client’s needs and the design concept. This requires analysis of existing conditions, organization, circulation patterns, furnishing layout, and code restrictions. Develop initial estimates for furniture, millwork, equipment, artwork and accessories. Set budget guidelines and oversee continual compliance with established budget. Communicate final design concept with Client through two-dimensional plans, elevations and three-dimensional perspectives, which are color rendered to help finalize design intent. Finalize color scheme and selection of all finishes suitable to the area’s use and design focus. All presented on sample boards and incorporated into detailed finish schedule for construction documents. Finalize furniture selections and layouts for all furniture. Provide detailed information and specifications for purchasing and installation. Prepare complete detailed construction documents for all millwork including custom built furniture and casework. Establish budget with Client for all artwork and accessories for space. Select and specify artwork and accessories. Locate artwork and accessories on installation plan for Client. Meet with Architects, Contractors and Subcontractors during construction. Provide periodic visits to site to assure compliance with specifications and design. Manage the scheduling of the installation of furniture, specialty items, artwork and accessories for the project. Provide keyed plans showing the locations of items and supervision of installation if required. Provide purchasing services and track shipping of specified items. |
